17 Centrale Grill Roast & Sizzler At 72nd Avenue

If there’s one thing I cannot live without, that is street food. There’s no denying that they’re dirty but if you’re like me who has a tummy made of steel, then you’re in for some ihaw-ihaw. 17 Centrale Grill, Roast and Sizzler got our back when it comes to our favorite grilled budget meals like pork barbecue, chicken intestine, pig’s ears, chicken gizzard, chicken liver and pork belly. They also offer sizzling meals like sisig and roasted dishes like lechon.

17 Centrale Grill Roast and Sizzler is located at 72nd Avenue Food Park. It’s the newest food park near the LRT Gil Puyat area. Aside from the good food offered by variety of stalls and good music from the live band, the food park also has a car spa for your car services needs. I live near the food park so expect that I’ll posting more food houses from 72nd Avenue. This time, let’s have 17 Centrale.

Liempo with Rice

There’s so much to appreciate in 17 Centrale’s Liempo with Rice like the heart-shaped rice. I appreciate that they served it freshly sliced because it was still whole when I ordered. I like the taste of the burnt corners because it wasn’t bitter at all. Instead, I can taste the smokiness from grilling and the fullness of the marinade. I understand that we can’t avoid fats to liempo but I’m glad that it’s not plenty. The skin was just chewy though.

Isaw

I don’t know if I’m just used to the five-peso isaw in our province or this ten-peso isaw from 17 Centrale is just really expensive, especially that it only consumes half of the stick. But I think there’s a reason behind the price because it’s truly delish. The chicken intestine is fat and fleshy yet it’s clean and not bitter. The sweet marinade helped a lot in making the isaw more flavorful. It’s good with or without the vinegar.

Tenga ng Baboy

If their Isaw was full of flavors, their Tenga ng Baboy was the opposite. It’s so bland! I think they forgot to soak this in sauce. It happens but unfortunately, the unmarinated Tenga ng Baboy was served to a blogger. And this blogger hates tasteless Tenga ng Baboy because it feels like eating a plain pig’s fat. Aside from that, the pig’s ear wasn’t tender and the cuts were big. I just appreciated it for having a crispy skin.

Lechon Sisig

Have you heard about Lechon Sisig? I haven’t seen one until I found 17 Centrale’s so when I spotted it in their menu, I got curious and immediately tried it. It didn’t disappoint. However, the dish didn’t sizzle that much so the egg almost didn’t cook and the pork was just warm. It’s just simple though. It’s just the usual lechon shredded to bits. But despite the simplicity, I can’t deny that it’s savory. Plus, it’s easier to eat. We don’t need to tear the meat using our teeth anymore.

Sizzling Tofu

This one is just so amazing. It’s only a tofu but they leveled it up to a luscious dish. Visually, you would already assume that it’s appetizing because of the great deal of ingredients. The sauce tastes the same way as the traditional sisig, which is quite tangy. And I must say that the sauce they used and the tofu blended well because the tofu is also tangy on its own. It has a hint of butter which is a plus point.
