Best Of Arnott’s

Arnott’s Tim Tam is the very Australian thing to send overseas when one visits the country. The famous cream sandwich from Arnott’s is just too good for you to forget bringing a few bags home for your friends. Tim Tams gained so much ground that at the end of the century, Arnott’s sold 30 million packs a year.

Then, I discovered that Arnott’s is totally famous in Australia. It’s actually Australia’s largest biscuit and snack food manufacturer. I visited, Woolworths, a grocery in Sydney to get some gifts for my family and friends at home and, there, I found different Arnott’s products from biscuits to cookies to chocolates. I guess I saw three racks that is full of Arnott’s products. That’s plenty! It isn’t just a one-brand snack as what I initially knew. I wouldn’t see these snacks when I get home so I bought as many Arnott’s products as I can.

If there’s one Australia is known about when it comes to food, it’s Tim Tam. It’s a triple chocolate biscuit that is composed of malt bread, filling and coat, which are all chocolate. Since there’s a lot of chocolate going on in here, they should have lessen the sweetness so it wouldn’t feel too much. I thought Aussies like bland food. Anyway, it kinda resembles the European cookies. Then, I remembered that Australia is colonized by British monarchy.

This is what we call chips and crackers in one. It has the flavor of chips in pizza flavor but instead of deep-fried chips, it is an oven-baked crackers so it is a healthier option. They have a lot of flavors but we picked Chicken Parmi to feel the Aussie vibe. Anyway, the powder was good. It definitely got the flavors of Chicken Parmigiana. However, I can still feel the dullness of the crackers. When all the Chicken Parmi flavors are gone, nothing remains for the bread.

Oh wow! That’s the literal word that blurted out from my mouth when I had a piece. I personally love antipasto platters and this chips has got the flavors of it. There’s no need to bother putting meat and cheese on top of crackers because the crackers alone already infused all the flavors of those mentioned. A pack actually has a big serving but I can finish this in one sitting just like how I can finish a plate of antipasto. I also like how crunchy it is.

Vitawheat reminds me of our local biscuits, Fita, because of the same flavor of the bread, and Bravo, because of the seed fillings. But this is healthier because this is plant-based. It isn’t just for promotion because I could definitely feel the 100% wholegrains as I bite into these thin crisps. Despite of being a nutritious snack, you wouldn’t feel that you are eating one because it is seasoned well and not boring to eat. 

Kingston | Monte Carlo

The next biscuits are not in a pack anymore since I bought the assorted pack of Arnott’s. I like the bread part of Kingston, which is like a compact of crushed nuts and oats. I can also see some coconut bits in it. Chocolate is good but, I think, fruity filling would be more fitting to this kind of cookie. Monte Carlo has refreshing filling I am looking for in Kingston. It is vanilla with some candy in it that taste like mint so there was also a mild crunch. 

Orange Slice | Shortbread Cream

Orange cream for a biscuit filling is always a good idea. It’s tangy, fruity and refreshing. The cookie was also good but for an orange taste, I prefer a chocolate-flavored biscuit. That combo would be more complementary since they have clashing flavors that will upgrade one another. Look at how soft the Shortbread Cream is! But the biscuit has this crumbly texture that bothers my mouth. It was an all-vanilla cookie so it really didn’t gave thrill. Therefore, it was a dull cookie.

Milk Coffee | Delta Cream

I’m sorry. What is this again? Is it a milk coffee? I don’t know. If I didn’t read anything from the pack or on the text carved in the biscuit, I wouldn’t know that this is a milk coffee. It is missing everything that the coffee has. I just hope it even got the taste of espresso alone. It’s a good thing the Delta Cream biscuit here got the flavor that was declared. The vanilla has this cooling effect that is incredible.

Nice | Butternut Snap

As the name says, that rectangular biscuit is nice. Even though the flavors is a mild one, it has creaminess in it. The sugar added yum and texture. Butternut Snap is for the oat lovers out there. It isn’t an oat cookie but I found out that when you transform a butternut into cookie, it would resemble an oat cookie. Actually, this is tastier since it got this toffee and nutty hints.

Scotch Finger | Choc Ripple

This taste like our local cookie called arrowroot. I’m not a fan of that and I don’t understand why people like it. If it has a demand, it means that arrowroot cookies and this Scotch Finger may be good for others. When a cookie has this mild breaks in it, I know it is gonna be delicious. The thing I like the most about Choc Ripple is the fact it uses dark chocolate so it wouldn’t be too sweet.

Teddy Bear | Milk Arrowroot

Oh! So this one is their arrowroot! It tastes like a simple cookie to me. But it has this natural sweetness inside. It was just dry that I find it boring to eat. But look at that Teddy Bear! I appreciate that they even bother molding these cookies to catch the attention of kids. I know that these kids won’t be disappointed when they get interested with this biscuit because it is flavorful.
