Lemon Sugarcane Juice

Think of Caipirinha as Brazil’s answer to the Mojito. It is refreshing, citrusy, and perfect for a warm day. But while a Mojito leans on rum and mint for its signature flavor, Caipirinha takes a different route with cachaça, a sugarcane-based spirit that gives it a distinct kick. No mint, no soda, just lime, sugar, ice, and the bold, slightly grassy notes of cachaça doing all the work.
I first discovered this drink while watching the Rio de Janeiro episode of Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix. Seeing it prepared with just a few simple ingredients yet delivering so much flavor, I knew I had to try making it myself. If you’re a fan of bright and zesty cocktails, this one is a must-try.
Let’s shake up a classic Caipirinha.
1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.
- Lime
- Fermented Sugarcane Juice
- Sugar
- Ice

2. Cut lime into wedges and place in a cocktail glass.

3. Add sugar.

4. Mash then together.

5. Throw ice and pour fermented sugarcane juice.

6. Your Caipirinha is now done and ready to be used.
