Artsy Patisserie And Cafe: Baking Life To The Sweetest

Year 2012, restaurants of different kinds started to pop up in every corner of Pinamalayan. There are Filipino and Japanese restaurants, cafe, bakeshops, fast food chains and pizza houses. Take note that they are not just simple restaurants. They are restaurants visited by locals and tourists alike. And as residents of this quiet place for a long time, we’re glad to see a little progress and vibrancy. Then, all of a sudden, there’s this pastel-colored, adorable, Instagram-worthy cafe that emerged in the town next to ours. It seems that our neighboring town is also getting some sunshine and I’m happy about that because it doesn’t only mean good tourism for Mindoro but also, it means more food and food houses to try! Let’s take a look at this cafe I’m talking about. It’s Artsy Patisserie and Cafe located at Gloria, Oriental Mindoro.

I’m glad that finally, there’s a brownie in Mindoro that can level with the brownies in Manila. It has thick texture, rich chocolate, right sweetness and is quite gooey. After all, it blends with the chocolate flavor of the brownie.

If you are craving for something sweet, Artsy Patisserie and Cafe offers mouthwatering cupcakes to suit that sweet tooth and craving of yours. Their Marshmallow Cupcake was my personal favorite. The sponge is moist and soft at the same tine and the frosting is not too sweet for my liking. My world stopped for two seconds and returned back to normal.

At first bite, I could feel the delight inside my mouth. But before I clear the plate, that’s when I realized how sweet it was. We know that chocolate alone is already sweet as well as the caramel. I just hope there’s something in this cupcake that would lessen the sugar level. I wish they offer cake slices during the time of my visit. I heard that their cakes are also divine.

Hey! They also have ube in here! Now I’m torn between Artsy Patisserie and Cafe’s Ube Delight and Dine at Log’s Ube Leche. I can’t decide which one is better because they are unique in their own ways despite of using the same flavor. Ube Leche has a slice of leche flan which adds to the thrill. On the other hand, Ube Delight is purely ube which gives us the natural flavor of a purple yam jam.

Peppermint Frappe

I absolutely enjoyed the flavors that their Peppermint Frappe brought. I’m not sure if that’s dark chocolate, coffee or their combination but it complements with the peppermint. Moreover, their baker slash barista has a talent in piping whipped cream. I noticed that on their frappes and cupcakes. The whipped cream are consistently and neatly swirled. It’s definitely a plus point on the presentation.

Regular Fries

In this place full of sweets, it’s important to have a sugar-breaker on the table. And for me, the best choice will always be French Fries because first, I’m a lover of potatoes and second, I couldn’t deny that their fries is simple yet irresistible. It’s not oily and has the right saltiness and crispiness. There’s no need for tomato sauce for it to be flavorful.

Cheesy Tuna Sandwich

While it’s clear that they specialize in pastries and frappes, the other courses were only ordinary. Artsy Patisserie and Cafe’s Cheesy Tuna Sandwich is delicious. The tuna is juicy as it blends with the cheese and the salad is fresh. It’s just that there’s nothing unique in it that can distinguish its uniqueness to the other toasts I’ve tried. My mom can even make the same thing.

The Patisserie Burger

The best thing about The Patisserie Burger, aside from the fries, is the patty. I can’t determine if it’s made with pork or beef but I’m sure it’s full of meat. I wonder if they make their own patty because I’ll raise my two thumbs up if yes. It’s dry though but the dressing helped to grease the dish. It’s a nice decision to pair it with BLT.

Beef Stroganoff

I like that they brought Russian dish in this small town and gave us a taste of their cuisine. The Beef Stroganoff is delish, of course. I’m just looking for chunks of meat because all I can is mushroom. The sauce has a hint of beef flavor though but lacks the tanginess of sour cream, which is essential in a Stroganoff. However, people here wouldn’t mind that as long as it’s palatable.
