Brew-tiful Day At Quatro Bella Cafe

Tucked away in a cozy corner of the city, Quatro Bella Cafe offers more than just a meal. It’s a serene escape perfect for foodies and casual diners alike.

I discovered this charming restaurant through a mutual friend. We were both foodies who love to explore new food places. In fact, we were at Quatro Bella Cafe as early as their opening days.

From the warm wooden interiors to the twinkling outdoor lights, the inviting ambiance instantly sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. Here’s a glimpse into our foodie adventure.

Caramel Macchiato | Java Chip Mocha Frappe

Both drinks were enticing with their frothy toppings and well-presented mug. The Java Chip Mocha Frappe provided a satisfying crunch amidst the smoothness. The chocolate flavor was rich but balanced, with a slight bitterness from the coffee base that prevented it from being overly sweet. The Caramel Macchiato offered a lighter, more balanced coffee experience. The layers of espresso and milk were evident, creating a visually appealing gradient. The caramel flavor added just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the robust coffee base.

Creamy Spinach Pizza | Cucumber Lemonade

The Creamy Spinach Pizza was light and flavorful. The thin crust was crispy on the edges yet sturdy enough to hold the creamy cheese topping. The cheese base was rich and gooey, delivering a savory kick that pairs well with the slightly earthy spinach. The spinach was cooked just right, maintaining its texture and freshness. The Cucumber Lemonade, on the other hand, was refreshingly natural, with the cucumber flavor adding a crispness to the sour notes of the lemonade. It’s definitely on the tart side, but the subtle cucumber undertones made it light and enjoyable.

Creamy Truffle Pasta

This dish is a strong contender for truffle lovers. The pasta was perfectly al dente, allowing the sauce to cling to each strand. The creaminess was indulgent and yet it didn’t overpower the distinct earthy truffle flavor. The truffle flavor was even more likeable because the other flavor profiles of the pasta like the chewy, juicy shiitake mushrooms and smoky bacon. The black pepper added a welcome kick that balanced the richness. The garlic bread on the side felt a bit too simple. It was something you could whip up at home but it still worked as a complement.

Roast Beef and Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Latte

It’s like having roast beef meal in a budget price. I first noticed the quality of the beef, which was the same as the one we can buy in local market. But I’m not looking for high-grade meat because I only bought this for only 250 pesos. The tenderness and beefiness was enough to satisfy my palate. I paired this with Quatro Bella’s Sun Moon Lake Black Tea, which is how I expected it to taste like. I appreciate that they only put milk and tea so the flavor focused only on Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Latte. I just can’t recognize its difference to Assam Black Tea Latte.

Quesadilla

Our cravings for light snack made us choose Quatro Bella’s Quesadilla. We ordered the Cheesy and Cheesy Pepperoni flavors. For their Cheesy Quesadilla, I wished they gave a variety of flavor. A three- or four-cheese blend with a touch of salty cheese would have elevated it. The wrap could also have been crispier. Meanwhile, the Cheesy Pepperoni Quesadilla was a creative take on pizza flavors, but it also fell short in seasoning. While the homemade dip was commendable, its thick texture made it less practical for dipping. A juiced or blended tomato dip would work better.

Sweet BBQ Wings

I noticed that they have a wide selection of BBQ-flavored wings. They have Sweet BBQ, Garlic BBQ, Sesame BBQ and Korean BBQ. The wings were crispy with a generous amount of meat, but the Sweet BBQ flavor didn’t quite live up to its name, leaning more toward a tangy, hickory BBQ profile. The abundance of sauce was appreciated, but the balance between sweetness and tanginess could be improved. Perhaps, I just haven’t tasted the other BBq flavors so I didn’t have something to compare it to. Exploring other BBQ flavors might provide a better comparison.

Choco Walnut | Double Dark

The Choco Walnut boasted a homemade rustic charm that promises a soft and chewy texture while the Double Dark is perfect for those who enjoy bold, bittersweet desserts. Providing a nutty crunch, the walnuts are generously scattered in both cookies. The dough was buttery and rich and was complemented by chocolate bits. I just hope that the cookies were warm enough so the chocolate bits melted in every bite. Both were delicious but between these two, I prefer Choco Walnut.

Strawberry Daiquiri | Pomelo Daiquiri

My first choice was the Strawberry Daiquiri. It looked like a watermelon shake but don’t be deceived because it got the booze. The strawberry flavor was just mild so it didn’t overshadow the boozy element. However, it was the Pomelo Daiquiri that stole the show. Its salted rim evoked the experience of eating pomelo with salt, enhancing the drink’s sweet and sour profile. The balance of pomelo flavor and alcohol was spot-on. It’s so good that you won’t even notice that there’s alcohol in it. It’s a must-try for cocktail fans.
