How I Make Filipino Beef Shank Soup
Even though we frequently visit Tagaytay and Batangas, we still miss and can’t get enough of Bulalo every time we’re home! We’re still experiencing the summer heat but that doesn’t stop us from sipping warm beefy broth and slurping the marrow inside the bone.
It’s true that Filipinos are soup lovers despite of weather. Few broth dishes we are famous for are Sinigang and Tinola. My personal favorite is the Sibut, which is actually a Chinese Chicken Herb Soup adapted by Filipinos. My boyfriend’s ultimate favorite is this one – Bulalo.
Bulalo isn’t just a boiled beef like the Filipino Nilagang Baka. Bulalo contains the shank part of the beef, which makes the broth absolutely flavorful and addicting.
For the meantime, we had a home-cooked Bulalo for lunch today wherein I copied the recipe from Panlasang Pinoy.
