How I Make Chinese Egg Drop Soup
It’s the 426th day of quarantine period in our region and in spite of the pandemic, I admire the development of food in our town. With a number of food establishments building in Pinamalayan today, we are introduced to more and more dishes and cuisines. There are corndogs. There are kebabs. There are paellas. There are takoyakis. There are egg drops!
Well, the egg drops here are the popular Korean egg sandwich. But as I search it in the internet, I became more interested to the Chinese Egg Drop, which a soup of wispy beaten eggs in chicken broth. But in this recipe, I tweaked a little and added carrots, corn and green peas.

- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup carrot bits
- 1/2 cup corn kernels
- 1/2 cup green peas
- onion
- 2 tbsp flour
- salt
- pepper
2. Place chicken broth over high heat and boil.
3. Add the sliced carrots.
4. Add the corn kernels.
5. Add the green peas.
6. Chop the onion and add it to the broth. Let this simmer for 3-5 minutes.
7. In the meantime, beat eggs in a separate bowl.
8. Dilute flour in water.
9. Season soup with salt and pepper.
10. While stirring, pour the diluted flour.
11. While stirring, pour the beaten eggs.
12. Your Egg Drop Soup is now done and ready to be served.
