How I Make Corned Beef Cottage Pie
Shepherd’s Pie and Cottage Pie are two savory pies that are definitely included in our list of comfort food. I once had Moussaka, a dish similar to Irish Shepherd’s Pie when we dined in a Turkish restaurant. But that was a once in a blue moon experience because in my country, beef is more accessible than lamb, hence, more chances of eating cottage pie. For those who are not aware, both Shepherd’s Pie and Cottage Pie use minced meat with potato top crust. The difference is the lamb and beef meat respectively.
I really can’t find lamb meat in my province so I’ll be making a Cottage Pie today. I’ll be using a corned beef instead of the traditional ground beef for it to have the cured flavors of brisket.
