How I Make Feta Tomato Pasta

It’s Ash Wednesday again and the start of Lent, a 40-day season intended for repentance, fasting and reflection to consider Christ’s suffering and sacrifice, for us, Catholics. A form of sacrifice we usually perform is abstaining from meat or fasting from food. So on the next 40 days, expect me to feature meat-free recipes.

I remember last year, my first dish for Lent 2021 was Guacamole Feta Nachos. It’s so coincidental that I made a feta cheese dish again for this year’s Ash Wednesday.

I learned this recipe from Tiktok and you probably heard it since it’s became a viral dish. I even heard that in some parts of Scandinavian, this caused feta cheese shortages since almost everyone wants to try making it. I’m probably late from the trend but it’s never too old to try a good pasta. And yes! This just fits as a Lenten dish so we had this for lunch.

2. On a baking dish, place feta cheese in the middle. This is supposed to be a block feta cheese but since I’m using a leftover whipped feta cheese, I’ll have to use this today.

3. Scatter tomatoes and garlic cloves on the side. Drizzle some olive oil over them.

4. Bake in pre-heated oven for thirty minutes at 200 degrees celsius.

5. While baking, cook pasta in a boiling water.

6. Get the baked feta cheese out of the oven and season with basil, rosemary, salt and pepper.

7. Mash all these together.

8. Strain pasta and combine it with sauce.

9. Your Feta Rotini Pasta is now done and ready to be served.
