How I Make Three Milk Spanish Latte
After trying out Tres Leches Poke Cake, I became obsessed with everything about tres leches. Before, I was already contented with just adding fresh milk to my coffee or to any dishes. But combining fresh milk, condensed milk and evaporated milk levels up flavors of food to a whole new level.
I find this coffee similar to Spanish Latte, which is basically a milky espresso with condensed milk as sweetener. But you know me. I don’t like the simple stuff. I like spice things up. So I added a Mexican kick to this coffee by adding one more milk, just like what they do in Tres Leches Poke Cake.
1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.
- 2 tbsp ground coffee
- 6oz hot water
- 50 ml condensed milk
- 30 ml evap milk
- 60 ml fresh milk
2. Brew two tablespoons of ground coffee to 6oz hot water for four minutes. Since I have coarse coffee grounds, I’m using french press for this. But I recommend espresso machine if you have fine coffee grounds.
3. While the coffee is brewing, mix the three milk kinds – evaporated milk, condensed milk and fresh milk. This is why we call this tres leches.
4. Steam the milk. Since this is a latte, we don’t need to froth.
5. Strain the coffee.
6. Top with tres leches.
7. Your Tres Leches Latte is now done and ready to be served.
