Jim’s Recipe: An Old Recipe, A New Passion
Jim’s Recipe started as a bakery in Malaysia that served top quality sponge cakes and pastries. It immediately started to gain traction throughout its home country and the demand quickly increased. Soon enough the business opened new ventures in neighboring countries, including the Philippines.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of sponge cakes because I generally view this cake as bland and boring. But Jim’s Recipe surprised me. When I received one from my sister, we didn’t just visited the store once but multiple times already to try different products.

This is the first sponge cake I had from Jim’s Recipe. I accidentally pressed it and I was instantly amazed with its softness. It was moist and its moisture has fruity flavor like a lemon. I can also savor the egg and milk flavors. This just proved how fresh and natural the cake was. It’s simple but it has hidden surprises. However, their Cheese Sponge Cake didn’t have much difference from their Classic Sponge Cake. It only differed bu only strands of cheese on top and in the middle.
Doctor shopping for Soma prescription Ube Cheese Sponge Cake
Compared to the Cheese Sponge Cake, the Ube Cheese Sponge Cake had more evident cheese fillings, which were gooey and almost dripping. However, when it comes to taste, the cheese wasn’t really felt because it wasn’t proportionate to the amount of cake. The ube flavor wasn’t rich and recognizable as well. You can just tell that it is ube because of the color and minimal ube flavor. The fluff diminished, too. For their Ube Sponge Cake Series, there are also plain Ube and Ube Yam. I guess, it’s better to buy Ube Yam so we can enjoy the ube flavor to the highest level.
Chocolate Sponge Cake
I somehow see Jim’s Recipe’s Chocolate Sponge Cake as a giant brownie bar because of the beautiful toppings. I like the addition of peanuts into the cake. It gave the cake texture and saltiness. There were also chocolate chips but I didn’t notice them immediately because they weren’t plenty. Its amount was so little that it almost didn’t have effect on the cake. I also wish that there were nuts and chocolate chips inside. Just like the other sponge cakes, the Chocolate Sponge Cake was also moist but less moist. The bottom part was already dry.
Cappuccino Glaze Bar | Crunchy Chocolate Glaze Bar
Thankfully, we can buy smaller bars of Jim’s Recipe through their glaze bars and sponge bars. It’s fun that their glaze bars aren’t just glaze. There are also toppings for an added crunch. I availed their Crunchy Chocolate and Cappuccino. I felt that the Crunchy Chocolate lacked amount, or perhaps, richness, to balance the cake. It’s still more of sponge cake. On the other hand, I find the cappuccino fitting to the sponge cake. It’s like a complete breakfast already.
Japanese Cheesecake
When it comes to Japanese Cheesecakes, I always check if it jiggles. This one didn’t but I’m glad that it didn’t affect the flavor and texture. In fact, I’m happy to say that a Malaysian bakery has perfected the making of Japanese Cheesecake. I didn’t know what happened but when I bit into this, it transported me to a beautiful place and it felt like I was floating. That’s how luscious this is! It has a flawless balance of sweetness to make it a cake and tartness from the cheese. The texture was like a solid foam that melted in my mouth. It was incredible.
