Majestea: Gratefulness In Every Cup
Before the rise of the milk tea industry in Oriental Mindoro, there is Majestea. Before we built the brand Breen Milk Tea, there is Majestea. It was Majestea that pioneered the industry in the province and until now, having three branches in the southern part of Oriental Mindoro, the shop is still making noise and serving delish milk teas, fruit teas and coffee.
Here are the drinks that I’ve tried so far.
Wintermelon Milk Tea | Okinawa Milk Tea
The distinct flavors of Okinawa and Wintermelon were clear and recognizable. It has a good ratio of tea to milk to sugar. It has a small amount of ice yet it cools the drinks perfectly. However, I don’t think that the lychee popping boba, the sinker they recommended, fits the milk teas. The popping boba is good on its own but not with Wintermelon and Okinawa. It’s distracting, actually. I couldn’t concentrate and evaluate the flavors of the milk teas.
Blueberry Fruit Tea | Strawberry Kiss
Strawberry Kiss is part of their Lanmaj Aurora Series, which uses butterfly pea, a caffeine-free herbal tea. There is a separation and gradience of colors in it, which makes the drink attractive. I just find the combination of strawberry and green apple strange for my palate. But this time, the popping boba blended with it. On the other hand, their blueberry fruit tea is sour. It’s tanginess covers the flavor of the tea.
Oreo Cheesecake | Mocha Iced Cold Coffee Blend
Honestly, it’s rare in Mindoro to have a milk tea shop that has a decent cream cheese series. Fortunately, Majestea is one of them. The foamy cream cheese is successful to be a mixture of sweet and salty. I would just ask to lessen sugar next time since the regular serving is sweet. The Mocha Iced Cold Coffee Blend is a sure delight. However, as a java lover, I always want my iced coffee to have strong coffee flavor. I found this drink more on chocolate flavor.
Hot Chocolate Milk Tea | Nachos
We’re looking for something hot since it was raining. It’s a good thing that they offer their chocolate milk tea in hot form. It’s very comforting. The chocolate is sweet and creamy, that’s why I like it. The tea is also fragrant. Nachos is crispy and good. I just wish it has more toppings like cheese, meat and veggies. It looks overloaded but the toppings aren’t proportionate to the chips. The meat gives sweetness to the dish.
Tamaraw Sugar Latte
First, it has a witty name. We all know that brown sugar drinks were popularized by Tiger Sugar. But Majestea’s version localized the name hence, the Tamaraw Sugar Latte. It is just milk like the Tiger Sugar’s bestseller, but it has cream cheese topping as an alternative for Tiger Sugar’s Cream Mousse. I actually like it because I can feel the freshness from the milk. It has a balanced sweetness since it got natural syrup from the pearls that are cooked in Muscovado sugar.
The other drink is from M Coffee, which is another brand owned by Majestea Gloria. While Majestea offers an array of milk teas, M Coffee specializes in handcrafted coffee. Their iced coffees are made with freshly ground mix of Robusta, Excelsa and Arabica so you’ll definitely feel the kick from their drinks! They truly understand that the stronger the coffee, the better the drink is. That’s why I keep coming back for their cold brews.
