How To Make Red Velvet Mocha

It’s not Christmas yet. It’s neither Valentine’s Day. But who could say no to hugs, kisses and a cup of red velvet chocolate coffee? After all, for us, Filipinos, Christmas starts in September. And for the western people, you can still be festive and feel cozy during autumn, right?

We usually see the red velvet flavor in cakes. It’s a moist and fluffy layer cake paired with buttermilk. But today, I planned to ditch the classic for this recipe. Instead of moist and fluffy, today’s red velvet is a rich and warm liquid. Red Velvet Mocha, everybody!

1. Prepare all the ingredients needed. This includes chocolate, coffee shot, milk and red food color for the hot chocolate and chocolate syrup and red velvet  cookies for decorating.

2. Mash red velvet cookies into bits.

3. Get your glass or mugs and dip its rim into a bowl of chocolate syrup.

4. Then, dip the glass rim into the mashed red velvet cookies. Set this aside for a while.

5. Combine a slice of chocolate bar and a cup of milk and let this simmer over heat.

6. Once the chocolate bar is melted, pour drops of red food color. Mix this well.

7. Pour the hot chocolate and coffee shot on the glass you decorated.

8. Your red velvet mocha is now done and ready to be served.
