PotDog Yummy Yaz!

During our recent trip to Manila, my boyfriend and I decided to take out some seafood balls, dim sum and street food from Potdog for our snack time. We were suddenly reminded of how delicious these nuggets are and how we were saved by Potdog during college when we were almost out of allowance since Potdog is known to have budget-friendly meals.

My boyfriend’s exact words were “Oo nga pala! May Potdog nga pala! Kumita lang tayo ngayon ng mas malaki, ang pinapansin na natin ay ‘yung mga medyo mahal. Masarap nga pala ito!”

And yep! I’m just glad that we got to experience these leveled up street foods again. We’re happy to be back, Potdog! We’re happy to have these food again.

These two may both be crab but it’s amazing that there is a tiny difference in its flavor. I don’t know how to explain it. Maybe, the crab claw is juicier. I remember buying Crab Claw before with attached claws in it. It actually adds to the fun. The sauce of my choice for the two is the Sweet Garlic. Aside from sweetness, it’s quite sour. What makes Chicken Saucer unique is the crispiness brought by the wrapper. It’s like a wrapper with crispy petals. Due to its appearance, it’s an eye catcher to customers. I’m not into chicken but it hooked me. Although it is a preserved food, the essence of chicken is still there. Like the Chicken Saucer, the lobster flavor is also evident in Lobster Balls. It has crispy skin, which makes the balls crunchy. My recommended sauce for these is the Sweet & Sour Sauce.

When they crispy, they meant it! The wrapper of these dim sums are like skin of fried chicken. They are as addictive! Both Crispy Siomai and Shark’s Fin Siomai has tender meat inside. You’ll sense the quality in the siomai compared to the one sold in streets. They are flavorful. I prefer the Crispy Siomai between the two. I was thinking of choosing Toyomansi with Chili Oil as my sauce. The staff, who is very approachable, suggests the same.

I’m sad that the potato snacks in their Finger Food menu are frequently not available in their MOA branch. Their wedges and slices are must-tries! I ended up having the Crunchy Pusit and Crispy Chicken instead. I can’t feel neither the crispiness nor the crunchiness in these two. But both are delish. Chicken is meaty and flavor of breading is actually good. I’m quite sad about the pusit because due to additives, it doesn’t taste like squid anymore. I can taste the overused oil.

Oh! I think my seafood balls are a little bit overcooked today. But they were just today. Before, they were well-cooked. But apart from the toasted outer part which made them kinda dry, these seafood balls didn’t disappoint when it comes to taste. The squidness and crabness, if there are such words, are recognizable. I had sweet chili for the sauce and it just makes it more appetizing.
