Street Grind: Grinding With Passion
Whether you’re celebrating small wins or catching up with friends, Street Grind is the place to be.
Street Grind started as a mobile cafe, setting up its station in front of Pinamalayan park and offering hot coffee to joggers and bikers every morning. The baristas proudly use moka pot method as their process of brewing.
Due to coffee’s high demand and customers’ overwhelming love, Street Grind opened up a store in a food park nearby. They’re now offering more than just hot coffee. My friends and I are thrilled to be their customers since its first days until now.
Spanish Latte
Iced Latte is my usual order on coffee shops, but when it comes to Street Grind, the Spanish Latte has been my go-to coffee. It was Street Grind that introduced this type of latte in Pinamalayan. Now, it’s loved by many customers. I even heard that it’s one of their bestsellers. This drink has a bold espresso base mixed with condensed milk. It’s the perfect choice if you want that bitter and sweet fusion. You can order the drink either iced or hot, depending on your preference.
Ube Latte
Street Grind’s Ube Latte is a drink close to us, Pinamaleños, since it features a familiar taste of locally-branded ube cake. Visually and in terms of taste, it’s an artwork. The gradience of violet and beige hues in this cup is just lovely. Taste-wise, I never thought that ube and coffee can go together but Street Grind made it work. The ube is sweet and nutty. I realized that its effect to coffee is similar to what vanilla gives to coffee so the fusion was great.
Double Matcha Frappe
I always say that there are two types of matcha in the Philippines – the authentic one, which is bitter and earthy, and the milky one, which is adapted to Filipino taste. I must say that Street Grind’s matcha is in between. This is the kind of Matcha my taste buds is searching. It’s milky yet the green tea flavor is still overpowering. Perhaps, I would suggest to customize the drink by requesting and adding crushed Oreos for fun contasting flavors.
Blue Paradise
The coffee shop also has mocktails, which are created for people who prefers caffeinated-free and alcohol-free drinks. They have Green Forest Punch, which is flavored in green apple. The feels of this is like Mcdonald’s Fuji Apple McFreeze. The one in the picture is the Blue Paradise, which, I think, is lemon-based. My favorite among the three is the Aurora Sunrise, which is defined by its smack of strawberry. They are equally refreshing, not to mention that they’re vibrant and attractive.
Aloha Fruitea
Recently, Street Grind released tea-based drinks and they’re to die for. We’re specifically obsessed with their Aloha Fruitea, a drink created with freshly brewed green tea, passionfruit puree and natural fruits. While most of us turn to iced coffee to pick us up on a dreary day, there are times when we crave a sip that’s less creamy and more invigorating. If you’ve ever feel that way, you’ll be happy to have a gulp of Aloha Fruitea.
