Spotify’s Best Songs For Travel 2016
Again, the year is about to end leaving us numerous beautiful music of different genres to enjoy. As 2016 says goodbye, I listed my top ten songs that occupied my heart this year and here I am sharing it to you. Some songs were released last 2015 but i still included it here since it became famous this year. So here it goes. I hope you’ll have fun listening to my 2016 playlist the same fun when I listen to it.
10. In the Name of Love
In the name of love
In the name, name
In the name of
In the name, name
In the name of
In the name, name
In the name of love
Why did I notice Bebe Rexha just now when I first heard In the Name of Love? I mean, she is so beautiful with an amazing voice and can hypnotize listeners without showing too much skin. On the other hand, there’s no question when it comes to Martin Garrix’s DJ skills. Together, they did great. I want to give a special mention of appreciation on the beat drop. Many listens on this song because of that.
9. Middle
I hope that I can turn back the time
To make it all alright, all alright for us
I’ll promise to build a new world for us two
With you in the middle
EDM is the new jam! I’ve seen so many songs in the 2016 chart with this genre. And Middle is just one of these songs that caught my sense of hearing. This song makes me feel happy and tropical while its music video makes me crazy. Have you watch it? At first, I thought they’re flashing words in another language but as stare at it, I realized that the words are all middle in different fonts.
8. Monumento
Konting bato, konting semento.
‘Di pa rin kuntento.
Para ipakita ang pagmamahal sa’yo.
At parang santo sa kumbento.
Bidang star sa kuwento.
Idol ka, taas kamay ako sa’yo.
Ikaw ang dakila, syento porsyento.
Hayaan mo’t ipagtatayo kita ag monumento.
Another OPM song passed my list and surprisingly, it’s again from Himig Handog P-pop Love Songs for 2016. Monumento was awarded as the second best song in the said contest. There’s no doubt about that since it doesn’t just have a great sound, but also, it has a well-written lyrics. I honestly miss this kind of lyrics in OPM since OPM songs today are so overrated.
7. I Know What you Did Last Summer
I know what you did last summer
Just lie to me there’s no other
I know what you did last summer
Tell me where you’ve been
The rival between Little Mix and Fifth Harmony is building. My vote is for Little Mix because all of them are brilliant singers. In Fifth Harmony, it’s only Camila Cabello whom I admire as much as Little Mix obviously because of her voice which prevails in the group. I’m happy that she’s doing songs on her own or with other artists like in I Know What you Did Last Summer.
6. How Far I’ll Go
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I’ll know, if I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go
I actually don’t know which version to add in this post because Auli’i Cravalho, the one who sang in Moana, Alessia Cara, the original singer and even Janella Salvador, the Walt Disney PH’s representative, all did a great job. The song itself allows them to bring out their best. Also, it explains a lot about Moana. That explains why I can’t choose which one’s the best.
5. Over and Over Again
So don’t ever think I need more
I’ve got the one to live for
No one else will do
And I’m telling you
Just put your heart in my hands
I love Ariana Grande singing pop soul as much as I love her singing dance pop. Her voice is so flexible to any genre that’s why I admire her so much. Plus, there’s Nathan Sykes, who is also an awesome singer! I’m glad that they’re back together for Over and Over Again. These two voices are so good to hear when combined. That’s why I didn’t think twice putting it on the list.
4. Diamante
Diamante, ang pag-ibig mo.
ampante, diyan sa piling mo.
Diamante, tulad ng bituin.
Brilyante, sa aking paningin.
When it comes to original Pilipino music, songs of Morissette Amon never go out of the list. She is just so incredible and her voice is just so overpowering. I admire the way she applies her whistles and intentional vocal breaks in her every songs and covers. Diamante is one of those songs. It is one of the finalists for Himig Handog P-pop Love Songs for 2016.
3. Can’t Stop the Feeling
Nothing I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance
Feeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance, come on
All those things I shouldn’t do
But you dance, dance, dance
And ain’t nobody leaving soon, so keep dancing
I really can’t stop my feeling to dance when I hear this song and I can’t stop my feeling to love the music. It has this characteristics that prevents its listeners from getting tired of it. I liked it even more when I heard it on Trolls since the movie gave more meaning to it. After all, Can’t Stop the Feeling is created for that happy movie.
2. Closer
So, baby, pull me closer
In the back seat of your Rover
That I know you can’t afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of that mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain’t ever getting older
I told you! Electronic dance music is now in! I know everyone agrees since Closer was once everyone’s favorite song and The Chainsmokers was once everyone’s favorite DJ duo. Imagine Closer being on the top of the charts already after a month of its release and it was there for 14 weeks! Well, the song deserves it because it’s catchy which allows us to show our groove.
1. Secret Love Song
Why can’t you hold me in the street?
Why can’t I kiss you on the dance floor?
I wish that it could be like that
Why can’t we be like that?
‘Cause I’m yours
I must say that this is really an amazing song. It’s a happy song yet it makes me feel better. Anyways, I was shocked when I knew that this lovely song is sung by a pop group. Although I can’t relate to it since it is about a secret affair between guy and a girl who is someone’s baby, they gave me chills. How did they do that? They’re kicking! Spice Girls are back in the name of Little Mix!
