Yamie Snacks And Shakes At Amo Yamie Crib

Before social media-driven cafés became the norm, there was Amo Yamie Crib, a cozy, fairy tale-inspired café that became a favorite hangout spot for students, especially those from the University of Santo Tomas. Known for its enchanting ambiance, this café combined the warmth of a homey nook with the excitement of a childhood storybook. Inside, pastel-colored pillows, quirky décor, and semi-private cubicles created an atmosphere that felt like a dreamland where you could sip on towering milkshakes and snack on comfort food while studying, chatting with friends, or even watching movies.
But beyond its whimsical aesthetic, Amo Yamie Crib was most famous for its playful take on food and drinks. Their milkshakes weren’t just beverages. They were towering, dessert-like creations topped with cookies, chocolates, and whipped cream, with names inspired by fairy tales and magic. Meanwhile, their savory offerings featured familiar comfort food like nachos, sandwiches, pasta, and rice meals, making it an affordable yet satisfying option for students on a budget.
Wizard of Oreo Milkshake

This milkshake was pure cookies-and-cream indulgence. It came in a mason jar-style glass, topped with crushed Oreos, whipped cream, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup, causing it to look tall and majestic. The base was thick, rich, and had the perfect balance of chocolate and vanilla flavors. It wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet, in spite of it being so grand visually. It was an easy favorite for Oreo lovers. My friend who ordered this mentioned that the Wizard of Oreo Milkshake made a sweet ending.
Once Upon Nutella Milkshake

Amo Yamie Crib’s Once Upon Nutella Milkshake is a dream for Nutella enthusiasts. I am currently obsessed with Nutella so this was my personal choice. This mocha-hazelnut concoction had a velvety smooth texture with just the right balance of nuttiness and cocoa. It was drizzled with watered-down Nutella and sprinkles and topped with whipped cream, making each sip decadent but not cloying. The coffee undertones gave it a slight bitterness, keeping the sweetness in check.
Jav-Aladdin Milkshake

This was the closest thing to Starbuck’s Java Chip Frappuccino but with a fun, whimsical touch. The milkshake had a deep coffee flavor, blended with bits of chocolate chips that added texture. However, the blend of Amo Yamie was smoother compared to Starbucks’ to the point that we couldn’t feel much of the chips. Topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream and half of chocolate chip cookie, it looked and tasted like a treat meant for late-night study sessions or cozy catch-ups. It’s definitely a drink that can take you to a whole new world.
Three Maltesers Milkshake

Maltesers fans would love this one. The drink had a malty, chocolatey base, giving it a distinct richness compared to the other shakes. The Maltesers on top added an extra crunch, making it fun to eat while sipping. I love the wafer stick dipped into the milkshake as well. However, the drink itself could have used a bit more malt powder to really bring out that signature Maltesers flavor. Still, it was a satisfying pick for those who love a good chocolate-malt combination.
Nachos

Amo Yamie Crib’s nachos were golden, cheesy delight. Served on a tray with a generous drizzle of nacho cheese sauce and sour cream, the dish was piled with crispy tortilla chips and a small portion of tomato salsa. The first bite had that satisfying crunch, followed by a creamy and tangy blend of cheese and sour cream. The nacho chips used could have been better though. While the toppings were flavorful, we wished there was meat to balance everything out.
Clubhouse Sandwich

Visually, this was a classic clubhouse, stacked layers of toasted bread, ham, cheese, lettuce, egg, and tomato, all secured with toothpicks. While the sandwich had a satisfying crunch and a good mix of flavors, the bread leaned towards being a bit dry. A side of fries helped, but a more generous spread of dressing or butter would have elevated it. We also ordered their Mini Bites and each featured a soft, pillowy bun with a lightly seasoned beef patty, cheese, and a hint of dressing. The burgers were tasty, though nothing too groundbreaking.
Cinderella’s Carbonara

Served in a small white bowl, this pasta dish had a creamy, off-white sauce with bits of ham scattered on top. The presentation was neat, but the taste leaned towards the sweet side, much like the Filipino-style carbonara found in fast-food chains. The sauce was thick and creamy, but the ham bits were a bit sparse, making the dish feel slightly one-dimensional. I appreciate them using linguine pasta, which was cooked al dente. It’s enjoyable if you prefer a sweeter, less smoky take on carbonara.
Chicken

This meal was straightforward. It was a serving of fried chicken with golden, crispy skin on a bed of lettuce leaf, paired with plain white rice and a side of gravy. The chicken itself was juicy and well-seasoned, with a satisfying crunch that rivaled popular fast-food joints. That’s a thick bite of chicken! The gravy was on the thinner side, but its buttery and slightly peppery flavor complemented the chicken well. It’s a comforting choice if you wanted something filling and familiar.
