How I Make Pandan Iced Tea
Iced Tea is American. But make it Pandan Iced Tea, then that’s screaming Asian!
I first tasted Pandan Iced Tea at Banana Leaf and I instantly felt love with the natural taste of Pandan transformed into drink. It tasted like home since I grew in a place where Pandan is used as flavoring to desserts and as scent to rice. I was fascinated with the Banana Leaf’s transparent tea like as if it’s water. Yet, the flavor is so full and exotic. The fragrant aroma is so refreshing. In my mind, there’s no way I’m not gonna remake this at home.
1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.
- 8 Pandan leaves
- 750ml water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugari
- ice
2. Tie four pandan leaves into a knot.
3. Let the half liter of water boil. When it reached the boiling point, lower heat and place knotted pandan leaves, sugar and salt. Brew for five minutes.
4. While we infuse pandan into boiling water, throw the rest of pandan leaves and water into the blender and blend.
5. Filter remnants and get the liquid.
6. Add the blended pandan into the boil.
7. Filter and pour this in a glass of ice.
8. Your Pandan Iced Tea is now done and ready to be served.
