How I Make Filipino Butter Sugar Toast
Biscocho is a famous Filipino butter sugar toast of biscuit, that we can see in pasalubong shops. The termbiscocho is derived from Spanish bizcocho. However, they are not the same pastries. The original Spanish bizcocho refers to a type of sponge cake known as broas in the Philippines. The sugar-coated Philippine biscocho does not exist in Spanish cuisine.
Just recently, I learned that I’ve been making Biscocho for a long time now because I didn’t know it was called Biscocho. It’s a simple snack we toast whenever we have leftover bread in the pantry.
