How I Make Mac N’ Cheese Poutine
Today, we have a leftover Mac N’ Cheese from last week’s Three Cheese Mac N’ Cheese Pizza and I’m planning to top it on fries. I thought of Canadian Poutine so I would like to add some gravy, too, but instead of cheese curds, we put the Mac N’ Cheese for that cheesy craze. It’s gonna be carbs on carbs!
Mac N’ Cheese and gravy may sound like an odd pairing at first but it works wonderfully. Try this tasty combo on top of crispy fries for a cheap and easy snack!
1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.
- leftover Mac N’ Cheese
- 1/4 kilo pre-cut frozen fries
- 1/2 cup butter
- 5 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp basil flakes
- 1/2 tbsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tbsp Garlic powder
- oil
2. Cook fries in deep fryer. It would be better to use fresh potatoes but we only have pre-cut frozen fries.
3. While the potatoes are frying, make the gravy by browning flour into melted butter.
4. Add the beef stock in a gradual manner while stirring.
5. Season with salt, pepper, basil flakes, garlic powder and onion powder.
6. Heat leftover Mac N’ Cheese. If you don’t have a leftover, you can cook a new one my cooking macaroni pasta in milk and cheese.
7. Place fries on a plate and season with salt.
8. Assemble Mac N’ Cheese on top and drizzle the gravy.
10. Your Mac N’ Cheese Poutine is now done and ready to be served.
