How I Make Garlic Oil Pasta
Just like last week’s Noche Buena, I made sure to have my own contribution every Media Noche or New Year’s Eve feast. But it was my first time to run out of ideas. I just created a simple and common one, which is Filipino Coconut Salad or Buko Salad.
But, when we were setting our food on the table, I realized that we do not have any pasta. This can’t be happening on a new year celebration because pasta or noodles signifies having a longer life. As what the Filipino superstition says, “Ang pansit o spaghetti ay pampahaba ng buhay.”
It was almost midnight when I grabbed the remaining uncooked spaghetti pasta, together with the garlic and olive oil in our pantry.
Aglio Olio is the simplest pasta yet it is one of the most recognized Italian pasta due to its irresistible flavors. Its popularity can be attributed to it being simple to prepare and the fact that it makes use of inexpensive and readily available ingredients that have long shelf lives in a pantry.
