He possesses the powers of flight, superhuman strength, x-ray vision, heat vision, cold breath, super-speed, enhanced hearing, and high-invulnerability. Batman, on the other hand, even though he does not have any superpowers, relies on his genius intellect, physical prowess, martial arts abilities, detective skills, science and technology, vast wealth, intimidation, and indomitable will. In short, these two are both superheroes on the same level.
Therefore, having this kind of film is so intriguing. A story that narrates a battle between two superheroes gives no hint who will prevail in the end. Who do you think would win between Batman and Superman? Batman is the hero in his own story and in the City of Gotham while Superman is the hero of his own story and in Krypton so that’s just unpredictable! But combining the two protagonists is what causes people’s interest. For sure, curious viewers like me and comic fans of both parties would join force in cinema.
I’ll just make this review quick and simple. After all, the prowess of Warner Bros. Pictures in producing films has already been proven. Plus, there is Zack Snyder as the director. If you see this name in the movie credits, you’ll know that the show you are watching won’t be a waste. He won’t let the production, cinematography, score and other things be at mess. Thanks to Larry Fong, Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL for those breathtakingly realistic visuals and music! What makes it more realistic are the actors themselves, especially during action scenes. Again, there’s no question about that because the main characters were played by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. Gal Gadot who played Wonder Woman was the best though.
Setting these stuff at a high level, I must say that the creators left the plot below. There’s nothing unusual with the story line making it a little boring, especially the first part. Some scenes do not make sense which confuses the audience. But when they started fighting, I was keeping my eyes open. The match between Superman and Batman was thrilling. In fact, I crossed my fingers hoping that the two will stop and be in good terms because none of them were the antagonist in the first place. They should team up against Lex Luthor because he is the real villain.
But before continuing with my review, let me share the thoughts running in my mind during the scene because my reactions were funny! Well, I just want them to stop! Just stop! I want Bruce to hear Clark so none of them will be hurt. None of them should die. But if I were to choose among the two who I want to survive, it would be Clark Kent because he’s so handsome! Yeah! That’s my reason! And I’m laughing to myself now.
Anyway, going back to Superman V Batman: Dawn of Justice, I was so glad that they survived Lex’s trick and that Clark, my new boyfriend, didn’t die. However, the battle didn’t end there as Lex executes his back-up plan. He formed a genetically-engineered monster that clearly outmatches Superman, Batman and the unexpected newcomer, Wonder Woman. I knew that they have one last shot with the kryptonite spear and I knew that they will win this when Superman was about to stab the monster. But my delight turned into sorrow when the creature fatally stabs Superman with one of its bone protrusions in the last moments. I was sad and that’s all I could say.
I told you. My review is going to be short.
