Beauty Uses Of Used Ground Coffee
It’s the 314th day of quarantine period in our region and it has been a long time since I last tackled about beauty uses of a certain food or ingredient, not because of the pandemic since I stopped this years before COVID-19, but simple because I’m shy as I am not really an expert on beauty stuff.
But I’ve already collected a lot of used coffee grounds and I don’t want them to be put to waste. Part of these grounds are already given to mom so she can utilize it as fertilizer in her garden. We also use some to scent our toilet rooms. And you won’t believe that recently, I’m using these wet coffee grounds as part of my skincare routine and alike. So after a long pause, I am again sharing beauty uses of used coffee grounds.
Body Scrub
Having leftover coffee grounds as a scrub doesn’t only provide our desired relaxation, but it also help increase blood circulation. Combine used coffee grounds with natural oil like almond oil, coconut oil or olive oil to make a body scrub. Using this paste, massage preferred parts gently in circular motion for minutes before rinsing. You can now say goodbye to dead skin and say hello to soft and smooth skin!
Palate Cleanser
As we all know, how a coffee smells is just as strong as how it tastes. Thus, it has the ability to cleanse one’s sense of smell. So in case you are choosing a perfume, you can smell coffee grounds, used or unused, in between scents so you’re nose won’t be confused. Apart from palate, it also has the ability to remove unwanted smell from your hands. I recommend to scrub your hands with used coffee grounds if you happen to hold stinky ingredients.
Scalp Exfoliator
We’ve been putting so much chemicals in our hair daily. It deserve something natural to clean the unwanted buildup. You won’t believe that the solution is just sitting inside your french press. Yep! You can exfoliate your scalp with used coffee grounds. I put used coffee grounds on my scalp, massaged it for a few minutes, rinsed, finished with shampoo and my head has never been lighter.
Hair Tint
Oh! I super love coffee that I even want a coffee-colored tint or highlights to my hair. Don’t you want that chestnut brown hair color, too? You don’t have to waste a penny because the used coffee grounds can do the trick! It’s totally simple. You just have to mix a tablespoon or two of ground coffee into your daily take of conditioner. However, the tint only works for those who have blond or fair hair.
Puffy Eye Remedy
As I said, coffee grounds are effective in increasing blood circulation. On the other hand, poor circulation is one factor of fat buildup under the eyes. Therefore, coffee grounds can also be used to diminish the bags under eyes. To do this, simply put used coffee grounds in freezer and apply chilled coffee grounds under eyes. Let it rest for ten minutes before rinsing. Perform this daily and observe changes.
