Best Of Gardenia
Does anyone here get to experience a field trip at Gardenia? I know a lot of people who are fortunate enough to get inside the Gardenia factory and witness how the company manufacture the world-class pastries. Sadly, I wasn’t able to experience this knowledgeable trip since I was a Mindoro local. Most students who got the visit Gardenia are from NCR and Calabarzon.
But giving this kind of opportunity to people doesn’t only fulfill curious minds but also, they were able to assure consumers its world-class facilities and safe and well-sanitized production.
Gardenia does not only mean loaves of bread. It’s good to know that they have a lot more to offer.
Gardenia is the mother of bread loaves in the Philippines. They offer different kinds such as white bread, wheat bread and Double Delights. We usually buy white bread but we still have our favorites. My mom likes High Fiber Whole Wheat Bread while I choose both Black Forest Loaf and Cheesy Ube Loaf. I love their idea of having two-flavored loaves.
Toasties
I remember having Butter Toast as my school snack when I was younger. I discovered Toasties just recently. I don’t know how they differ since they are both yummy. It’s the most delightful combo of sweet and salty. It’s overloaded with sugar and margarine. But I enjoyed Toasties more since it’s smaller, which means it has more crispy parts.
Pockets
The pockets come in different flavors. When I opened this, I can already smell the aroma of the flavors, which is inviting. The strawberry flavor tastes like the strawberry of Meiji’s Yan Yan. The chocolate flavor is delish and has smooth texture while the cheese flavor is fine. However, all flavors have uneven fillings.
Muffin
The blueberry-flavored Muffin is moist. i just don’t know why it feels dry when eaten. perhaps, i was looking for blueberry filling or spead inside because bits isn’t enough. It’s also too sweet. I hope they added a hint of tanginess or fruitiness from blueberry. The chocolate flavor looks good. I’ll try that next time.
Fun Bun
I’m amazed at how Gardenia managed to let their bread stay fresh and soft despite of being shipped nationwide and stock for a few days in stores. That’s the first thing that came to my mind when I had a bite of this Fun Bun. The ube is moist. It’s actually better than most commercial ube spread.
Cream Roll
I was avoiding this because just by seeing the bread, it looks dry. But I tried it for this blog. I was already expecting it to be dry, but I was still disappointed. It’s like a giant Crossini but Crossini is a moist bread filled with chocolate filling. In here, after a few bites, I couldn’t find the filling. It’s just in the middle. I like the chocolate spread though.
Neu Bake Spanish Bread / Neu Bake Pan De Coco Bread Roll
This is super soft. I can’t believe its gentle texture given that it needs to be preserved since it will still pass on a lot process before heading to the merchandiser. Just wow! After all those, I could still feel their freshness. The Spanish Bread filling is quite salty. Pan De Coco is just right. Both have good amount of fillings.
Choco Chip Brioche Bun
Anything with chocolate chips on a chocolate base will easily attract me. Although I’m not into brioche buns, I just found myself grabbing this Gardenia product in the grocery. As always, the bread is soft. Since they mixed dark chocolate bun and milky chocolate chips, it’s not
Soft Delight Pandesal
When it comes to Pandesal, I have this desired specific flavor that I want, which is creamy and milky. Sometimes, it has crispy and toasted edges. Gardenia’s Soft Delight Pandesal wasn’t able to get it. This one is bland. But when it comes to softness, it was able to achieve it. But I would still go for pandesal from local bakeries.
Delecia
When we see hazelnut spread, we instantly compare it to the taste of one known brand, Nutella. But Delicia is far different. For me, it’s more of a plain chocolate spread than the hazelnut-flavored. I wonder how this differs from Delicia Milky Chocolate Spread. Anyway, I love that their spread is smooth and velvety.
