Ella’s Pizza: Hot & Delicious

Have you heard of Ella’s Pizza?

This pizza place’s name may not be as well-known as other brands in our towns, like Greenwich, Yellow Cab, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Shakey’s Angel’s Pizza, and Lotsa Pizza. However, when you pass by their branches, you’ll see plenty of customers waiting for their orders. Ella’s Pizza is a low-key establishment that doesn’t have significant brand recognition or an online presence, but it draws a lot of customers, especially from the masses. As a result, Ella’s Pizza has grown nationwide, with multiple branches in many towns.

Their pizza options are not only affordable, but also delicious. I can’t blame people for flocking to their stores because I’m one of them. From simple afternoon snacks for our employees to party feasts, Ella’s Pizza is always our top pick.

Beef with Mushroom

Ella’s Pizza’s Beef with Mushroom reminded me of Lotsa Pizza. I’m not sure if Lotsa Pizza offers the same flavor, but the closest I can think of is their Pure Beef Supreme. The softness of the pizza dough and the taste of the ingredients are very similar to what Lotsa Pizza offers. It has chunks of melted cheese that are salty and delicious. The sauce is mostly cheese, and I’m not complaining! Though the mushrooms were from canned goods, they contributed juiciness to the pizza. The combination of beef and mushroom was spot on.

Hawaiian

I also noticed similarities between Ella’s Pizza and Lotsa Pizza when it comes to their Hawaiian flavors. Both are incredible, and even though I usually prefer thin-crust pizza, I make an exception for Lotsa Pizza and Ella’s Pizza. Their thick crust is soft but still has a nice crunch. Despite the generous amount of dough, the toppings were flavorful. However, some slices were missing ham and pineapples, as you can see in the picture. That’s the only issue we usually encounter with their pizzas.

Pepperoni

The pepperoni was thinly sliced with minimal smokiness and no acidity, contributing mostly umami flavors. From the taste, I could tell they were using frozen, pre-sliced pepperoni. I wish there were more slices on the pizza because the slice I got only had one piece of pepperoni. Once again, the cheese worked its magic. It was a common cheese you could buy in the market, like the pepperoni, but it was perfectly melted and had mildly salty notes. The fresh, sweet white onion was also a great addition.

Ella’s Best

My husband’s favorite is Ella’s Best. If we need four pizzas, he’ll just order four Ella’s Best without even considering other flavors. One time, I ordered different flavors, and he got mad at me. I understand why it’s so popular – it has all the toppings and is generously loaded. For me, though, it had too much going on, and I couldn’t focus on one flavor. It’s not my preference, but I know many others love it. Ultimately, it depends on the customer’s taste.

Pizza Cheese

You may have noticed how much I appreciate the cheese Ella’s Pizza uses. That’s one reason I decided to add their plain Pizza Cheese to our company Christmas party feast. However, it didn’t look or taste as good as I expected. As you can see in the photo, there wasn’t enough tomato sauce, so it evaporated and dried up when they baked the pizza. The cheese was over-toasted as well. I suggest they use a variety of cheeses with different textures and flavor profiles to make this flavor work better.
