Llao Llao: An Experience That Starts In White And Is Filled With Colors And Flavors
Passing by any branch of Llao Llao, I rarely see their store having no lines of customers in front. Llao Llao has been in the country for eight years and I don’t think that its customers are diminishing. With this, you’ll immediately know that this frozen yogurt shop offers incredible frozen yogurt. I am honestly one of those people that is hooked to their sanum.
Llao Llao is proud to use yogurt made of skimmed milk and high quality ingredients, creating a unique and healthy product. They only have limited items in their menu they offer a wide variety of toppings and sauces, which becomes their unique selling point.
Large Tub (Mango, Muesli, Candy Milk)
A large tub allows us to have three toppings so we had mango, candy milk and muesli. But I realized that the amount of toppings in a tub isn’t enough for me, given the fact that this is more expensive than Petit Sanum, which has four toppings. I think, their tubs are for customers, who like to enjoy the yogurt itself because a tub has greater amount of yogurt. This made me appreciate the taste of the yogurt more. It’s creamy and it’s delish. The muesli had off flavors though. The big chunks of mango wasn’t too sweet yet not too tangy.
Petit Sanum (Strawberry, Kiwi, Biscoff Crunch, Candy Milk)
Petit Sanum, for me, is the greatest deal in the menu. The size is enough for my apetite and the servings of toppings were generous. I just casually mix and match the toppings and I can’t believe the combo of strawberry, kiwi, biscoff crunch and candy milk worked. Actually, both kiwi and strawberry are tangy but it went well with the frozen yogurt so it didn’t matter that much. It just showed that their fruits are all-natural. After all, the caramel sauce and biscoff did their job in contributing sweetness to the parfait.
Petit Sanum (Honeydew, Dragonfruit, Almond Crocanti and White Chocolate Sauce)
I tried another set of toppings for Petit Sanum to taste their dragonfruit, honeydew, almond crocanti and white chocolate sauce. There was a crunch in the honeydew cubes that I like but, similar to the dragonfruit, it didn’t contribute much flavors because we know that these fruits only have mild sweet notes. But they surely added nutrients to the cup. I’m glad that they chose crocanti instead of a plain almond as crunch because the sugar gave a different texture. The white chocolate sauce was too sweet. I’ll avoid this next time.
Petit Sanum (Grapes, Melon, Fruit of the Forest, M&M’s)
As I said, Llao Llao doesn’t have much choices so I ended up having another Petit Sanum with a different combination of toppings. I picked melon and grapes, which are unusual fruits for a frozen yogurt. I added Fruits of the Forest sauce, which is an original blend of Llao Llao. However, it was more of a clotted jam than a sauce. Everything went well together except for the crunch. I don’t know why I picked M&M’s as crunch though but it was good as it is. Overall, they gave us a melted and watery yogurt, which didn’t feel appetizing.
Golden Mango Smoothie
Llao Llao also offers a variety of smoothies that are made with their specialty yogurt. I actually ignore the smoothies before but the buy-one-take-one coupon from Belle de Jour planner made me try their Golden Mango smoothie. The yogurt added a different kind of creaminess to the usual mango shake. However, the mangoes were off-season during that time so the fruit and the drink was too sour. One more thing that caught my attention was the mango sauce, which seemed to be homemade. It somehow gave sweetness to the smoothie.
