OOTD: Aldub Ko To
Perhaps, you would not know who I am portraying since this is just one of her famous outfits. Let me give you a hint. She is the Dubsmash Queen of the Philippines, the worldwide phenomenon, the half of the famous love team, Aldub, the star of a segment in Eat Bulaga, Kalyeserye, the reason why the said noontime show got high ratings and the one who hit the global record for the most number of tweets within 24 hours with #ALDubEBTamangPanahon. So many achievements already in her first year in showbiz! Did I miss one? Oh yes! In her first year also, she already had numerous product endorsements. Can you remember which was her first?
This Aldub commercial brought the old OPM song, Ikaw lang ang aking Mahal, back to FM radios. Their fans claim that McDonald’s Philippines increased their sales when this ad came out. I don’t know how true this is but we can’t deny the fact that the Aldub Ko To McDo TVC really became a talk-about topic in social media sites. And because of its fame during its time, we decided to have our own version of Aldub Ko To when we were tasked to put one parody commercial for our school project. I did Maine Mendoza’s part and you can now laugh all you want.
When doing parody, it is required to imitate almost everything, not just their actions, but also the production such as costume and makeup. So for a day, when we shoot this our parody commercial of Aldub Ko To, I dressed like Maine Mendoza. Yes! That’s the OOTD I showed on the photo above! As we can see, Yaya Dub wears denim overalls and blue polka-dotted button-down long sleeves as an inner wear. But men, my overalls have a different shade of denim and I have a pink polka-dotted button-down long sleeves, instead of blue. Can you forgive me for that little difference? Anyway, if you are planning to have the same OOTD, pull your hair up and accessorize yourself with thin black headband. Don’t forget to treat yourself in McDo when you dressed like Yaya Dub!
