Even I can’t help myself from expressing my admiration to the musical romantic comedy drama film in my blog post, La La Land Movie Review. The music, including City of Stars, just fascinates me because it has full of meaning and feelings.
But aside from the music, the actors’ performances and the movie itself, the outfits also caught our attention, especially girls’. As you will notice, Emma Stone’s costumes were patterned to Old Hollywood fashion with a little touch of the modern. I love that the costume designer, Mary Zophres, kept them simple yet classic and timeless because as what she said in an interview, Emma Stone looks better in things that are simple. You can see that she dressed Emma Stone with frocks and heeled sandals or tap dance shoes for most scenes.
Actually, it’s not difficult to have an OOTD inspired with La La Land. There may be a number of similar dresses that you can find in malls or clothing boutique out there, but you don’t have to limit your La-La-Land-inspired OOTD to the ones you see in the flick. You just have to choose a frock that is simple and comfortable to wear. But since La La Land’s wardrobe is more of vintage glam than anything else, you might want to equip yourself with that, too. As for me, I picked this pink dress from Candie’s and paired it with a matching heels because I think it passes La La Land wardrobe qualifications.
